Input from area elected officials, business and civic groups, and members of the public revealed support for a comprehensive vision plan and helped shape Region Forward. COG and its partners spread the word about the initiative through ads in local newspapers and web sites, presentations at dozens of local government boards and city council meetings, media appearances and op-eds, podcasts, and Facebook videos. This engagement and outreach was illustrated by the almost 400 public comments on Region Forward that were submitted.
Just because Region Forward was approved and released doesn’t mean that our work is over—we are just at the beginning. From local governments to stakeholder groups to citizens, everyone has a role to play in helping us meet our shared, regional goals. Please spread the word about Region Forward with your colleagues and friends, stay connected to this effort through this website and our social media tools, and ask us if you would like us to discuss the plan with you or your group.
